Advantage Flea: Your Effective Solution to Flea Problems

If your pet is scratching persistently and obviously feeling uncomfortable then it probably has fleas. Getting rid of the fleas is fairly easy by using Advantage flea medicine. Advantage can help not only in stopping the flea problems but in preventing the spread of diseases. In fact, fleas present a lot of health problems that can affect you and your family, as well as your other pets.

Advantage flea comes in two forms: topical (lotion) or pill. You apply the lotion onto your pet's skin. The fleas are instantaneously poisoned once they get in contact with the medicated part of your pet’s skin. As for the pill, administering the pill to your pet may not be easy at first but it is an effective way to kill the fleas. When your pet's body absorbs the pill, your pet's blood will automatically poison the fleas as they bite.

Advantage flea is safe to be used on pets all the time. You can choose not to apply the lotion or administer pills all the time but instead only during flea seasons. Flea season is really long. It starts from March up to December, so typically you will only stop the treatment during January and February.

If your household has flea problems, fogging your home for fleas can prove to be effective. Advantage flea takes time to eliminate all fleas so fogging is another possible solution. Flea bites can really be annoying and uncomfortable as they can last up to two weeks. You are also a candidate for fleas, as fleas will bite anything they feel warm and have blood. This is why they are also dangerous as they can also be disease carriers.

Advantage flea is effective in removing fleas but is recommended as a preventive measure for more efficiency. Hence, you can use it even if your pets do not have fleas yet. It is suggested for pets that are allowed to go outside to be given Advantage flea medication to help avoid contracting fleas from other animals or from its surroundings. Even a single flea can turn into a big problem once it manages to get onto your pet because it can start laying eggs on your pet in great numbers. Fleas will multiply if they are not immediately suppressed.

When you are trying to get rid your pet of fleas, make sure that all possible places where fleas can hide are treated. When you vacuum clean the carpet for fleas, make it a point to dispose of the dust bags immediately.
